Dangerous Goods Policy

This policy sets out the Skylink network criteria design for global code of ethics.

Overview

This policy sets out Skylink’s position on providing a safe, secure logistics service to our clients in transporting, handling, and storing their UN classified products as dangerous goods and to provide for the safety of all employees, community, and the environment.

Scope

This policy applies to everyone who works at Skylink Network in any capacity, full-time, part-time, or casual, including temporary employees and contractors. When required by the legislation, all dangerous goods and hazardous material must be stored, handled, and transported only after all applicable licenses and permissions are in place and approved by the Skylink Network’s Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor (DGSA).

Principles

At Skylink Network, in order to minimize the risks associated with storing, handling, or transportation of dangerous good or hazardous materials, we must ensure:

  • Relevant permissions and licenses are in order for our employees, contractors, sites, and equipment involved.
  • Shipments involving dangerous and hazardous goods are handled to the highest-level standards, as required by the guidelines and recommendations of the United Nations.
  • Providing services only to those businesses that accept and operate within the relevant UN, IMO, and IATA guidelines and legislations.
  • Trainings, personal protective clothing and safety equipment are provided to all employees and contractors of the Skylink Network involved in the storing, handling, or transportation of dangerous or hazardous materials.
  • That the Dangerous Goods Team checks contractors for dangerous goods compliance, both prior to their engagements and regularly thereafter.
  • Checking all shipments involving dangerous goods for compliance with legislation prior to the acceptance by Skylink Network.
  • Checklists, review systems, and documented procedures covering all aspects of dangerous goods operations are maintained.

Note: All of our staff have received training from different accredited institutions for dangerous goods, perishable goods and temperature sensitive goods handlings.

Responsibility

The Dangerous Goods Policy shall be implemented by the Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor (DGSA) or Designated Personnel to maintain security measurements set out within the Skylink Network.

Compliance and Review

The Administration is responsible for establishing, overseeing, and assessing achievement against measurable objectives in relation to goals set out in this policy.


The Group’s Human Resources and Compliance Department is responsible for all other objectives and initiatives set out in this policy.

Infringement of this Policy

Skylink network has a long-standing commitment to conduct our business in compliance with all applicable local and international laws and regulations and in accordance with the highest ethical business principles and any violations of the policy will lead to disciplinary action up to and including dismissal of personnel/contract cancellation.
