Job Overview:

A Business Continuity Plan (BCP) Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that an organization is prepared for potential disruptions to its operations. The role involves developing, implementing, testing, and maintaining business continuity strategies to ensure that the company can continue operating during and after a disaster or crisis.

The BCP Coordinator works across departments and with external stakeholders to manage risks, assess vulnerabilities, and ensure that appropriate recovery procedures are in place.

This role is critical in helping an organization minimize operational downtime and financial loss during unforeseen disruptions, ensuring business operations can quickly resume and continue. The BCP Coordinator is a key player in an organization’s risk management and resilience strategy.


What will you enjoy doing (duties/tasks)

  • Design, develop, and maintain the organization's Business Continuity Plan, ensuring it meets business needs and complies with regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and document emergency response procedures, recovery strategies, and continuity plans for critical business functions.
  • Conduct risk assessments to identify potential threats (e.g., financial crisis, natural disasters, cyber-attacks, pandemics) and analyze their impact on business operations.
  • Perform a Business Impact Analysis (BIA) to determine which processes and functions are critical and prioritize their recovery.
  • Develop and maintain crisis management protocols, including establishing roles, responsibilities, and communication strategies in case of emergencies.
  • Provide support during crisis situations, ensuring that the continuity plan is activated and resources are mobilized.
  • Coordinate and organize regular BCP testing, simulations, and disaster recovery drills to evaluate the effectiveness of the continuity plan and ensure all staff are trained.
  • Identify areas for improvement and update the plan based on testing results and lessons learned from real incidents or simulations.
  • Ensure that the BCP is up-to-date, properly documented, and accessible to key personnel.
  • Maintain records of all BCP activities, drills, and testing, and provide regular reports to senior management on the status of the business continuity efforts.
  • Work closely with departments, IT teams, vendors, and external partners to ensure that continuity and recovery plans are integrated across the organization.
  • Foster a culture of business continuity awareness, providing training and guidance to staff on their roles and responsibilities during a disruption.
  • Ensure that the business continuity plan complies with relevant industry regulations, standards, and best practices (e.g., ISO 22301, 9001, 14001, 45001 others).
  • Stay informed of changes in regulations and business continuity trends, adjusting the plan as needed to maintain compliance.
  • Regularly review and update the BCP based on changes to business operations, organizational structure, technology, and external risks.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the plan and make necessary adjustments to enhance organizational resilience.
  • Assist in the development of incident response procedures, including data breach or security incident management.
  • Coordinate the activation of the BCP in response to an incident, ensuring that recovery actions are timely and appropriate.

For this position we are looking for High school diploma or equivalent graduation is an edge. 1 – 2 years of experience in the role of receptionist or customer service role preferred. Along strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities. Proficiency in office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite). Knowledge of office equipment (e.g., phone systems, printers, fax machines). Ability to maintain a professional appearance and demeanor. Strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills can give a plus to the candidate.
