Job Overview:

In our team, we are looking for a Data Science Specialist to join our dynamic team. In this job the resource will leverage data analytics, refer to the data management from raw data into meaningful information, machine learning, and statistical modeling to solve complex challenges in the logistics and shipping industry. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to enhance decision-making, optimize operational processes, and improve experiences.

What will you enjoy doing (duties/tasks)

• Extract, clean, and preprocess structured and unstructured data from multiple sources, ensuring data integrity and consistency.
• Develop, implement, and optimize AI models and intelligent agents to enhance automation, improve decision-making, and drive business innovation.
• Apply statistical analysis, hypothesis testing, and forecasting techniques to derive actionable insights and drive data-driven decision-making.
• Work with big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark, or cloud-based platforms) to process large datasets and optimize data pipelines.
• Develop interactive dashboards and reports using tools like Power BI, Python-based visualization libraries to communicate insights effectively.
• Implement AI-driven automation solutions to enhance operational efficiency and reduce manual interventions.
• Work closely with engineering, product, and business teams to translate complex data problems into practical solutions.
• Ensure adherence to data governance frameworks, security standards, and compliance regulations for ethical data handling.

Requirements:

What you need to succeed (Qualifications, experience, skills, attributes)!
To be in the position of Data Science Specialist, you should have a Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field. Proven experience in data science or analytics, preferably in the shipping, logistics, or supply chain industry. Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, and SQL. Hands-on experience with machine learning algorithms, data mining, and statistical modelling. Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, or similar). Solid understanding of database management systems, big data technologies, and cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure). Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work with large, complex datasets. Excellent communication and collaboration skills to effectively present findings to non-technical stakeholders.
