Job Overview:

We are looking for a proactive, Insight Sales Operations Specialist to plays a crucial role in supporting the sales team, optimizing sales processes, and ensuring operational efficiency within the shipping, freight forwarding, and logistics industry.

This position is designed to bridge the gap between business development goals and operational execution by managing sales data, lead qualification, sales support functions, and ensuring the smooth implementation of business development strategies. The role focuses on driving growth through effective inside sales techniques, operational processes, and optimizing lead generation and conversion rates.



What will you enjoy doing (duties/tasks)

  • Provide daily support to the sales team by managing and maintaining the sales pipeline, tracking performance metrics, and ensuring the timely follow-up of leads.
  • Assist with the creation of sales reports, dashboards, and performance analysis to inform strategy decisions and monitor sales progress.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to qualify inbound leads, manage customer inquiries, and ensure prospects are nurtured efficiently through the sales funnel.
  • Support the development of proposals, quotes, and pricing strategies for prospective clients in the freight forwarding and logistics sector.
  • Execute outbound lead generation activities such as cold calling, email outreach, and social selling to expand the customer base.
  • Qualify leads based on company criteria to ensure alignment with business development goals and target markets.
  • Identify and engage with key decision-makers within potential client organizations, primarily focusing on logistics, shipping, and supply chain management.
  • Assist the business development team in identifying market opportunities by researching industry trends, customer pain points, and competitor activities.
  • Provide insights and suggestions to optimize the sales approach and improve lead conversion rates.
  • Support the development of marketing campaigns aimed at generating new business opportunities and expanding the company’s market presence.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, sales activities, and lead statuses in the CRM system (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot).
  • Ensure data integrity by regularly updating customer information and sales records to optimize sales performance.
  • Analyze CRM data to identify trends, opportunities, and gaps in sales processes to suggest improvements.
  • Work closely with the sales and marketing teams to streamline processes for lead qualification, follow-ups, and closing.
  • Identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies in the sales process and propose solutions to improve speed and accuracy.
  • Ensure sales reps have the resources and tools needed to close deals quickly and efficiently.
  • Collaborate with operations and logistics teams to ensure alignment between sales efforts and service delivery capabilities.
  • Work with the customer service team to ensure smooth post-sale transitions and improve customer retention efforts.
  • Coordinate with the finance department to handle quotes, pricing, and invoicing accurately.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as lead conversion rates, sales cycle length, and revenue generation.
  • Provide sales performance analysis and reports to senior management to inform strategic decisions.
  • Contribute to monthly, quarterly, and annual sales forecasting to support revenue goals and resource planning.
  • Conduct regular market research to identify emerging trends and customer needs within the shipping, logistics, and freight forwarding industries.
  • Analyze competitor offerings, pricing, and sales tactics to keep the company competitive in the marketplace.
  • Present insights and recommendations based on research to guide business development and marketing strategies.

An Insight Sales Operations Specialist strong background in sales operations and business development, seeking to grow within the fast-paced shipping and logistics industry. If you have the skills to drive sales efficiency, optimize sales processes, and support business growth, this is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the success of a dynamic team. bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Experience 3+ years in insight sales, sales operations, or business development, preferably in the shipping, freight forwarding, or logistics industry. Proficiency in CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint). Strong understanding of sales processes and pipeline management. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
