Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced, creative, and detail-oriented Executive Chef to oversee and manage the preparation of daily office lunches and tea for breaks. This role will be responsible for providing nutritious, delicious, and diverse meals to staff members, ensuring that each meal is prepared to high standards of quality, taste, and presentation. The Executive Chef will also manage kitchen operations, inventory, and collaborate with the HR/Office Manager to ensure food service is aligned with company culture and employee well-being.


What will you enjoy doing (duties/tasks)

  • Plan and create daily or weekly menus for office lunches and tea breaks that cater to diverse dietary preferences and restrictions (e.g., vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, etc.).
  • Prepare nutritious, balanced, and appealing meals using high-quality ingredients.
  • Ensure meals are served in an aesthetically pleasing manner, considering portion sizes, presentation, and variety.
  • Coordinate with other departments to arrange meals for special events, company meetings, or celebrations.
  • Manage the preparation and serving of tea, coffee, snacks, and light refreshments for tea breaks.
  • Oversee the daily operation of the office kitchen, ensuring a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
  • Maintain kitchen equipment and utensils in good working order.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, food hygiene standards, and quality control.
  • Monitor and manage kitchen inventory, ordering supplies as needed and minimizing food waste.
  • Supervise kitchen staff (if applicable), including assistants, cooks, and servers.
  • Provide training and guidance to kitchen team members on food preparation, safety, and hygiene practices.
  • Coordinate with other departments to accommodate specific dietary needs, preferences, and meal requests.
  • Prepare and manage the food service budget, ensuring cost-effective meal planning and purchasing.
  • Maintain financial controls by monitoring food costs, portion sizes, and waste reduction strategies.
  • Foster a positive, engaging, and inclusive environment in the office kitchen, contributing to overall employee satisfaction.
  • Occasionally gather feedback from employees to ensure meal offerings meet their preferences and expectations.
  • Prepare and cater meals for special office events, team lunches, or celebrations.
  • Coordinate with event planners or HR to tailor menus for company gatherings, ensuring a seamless food service experience.

Requirements:

What you need to succeed (Qualifications, experience, skills, attributes)!
In the role of Executive Chef Proven experience of  3 – 4 years in a similar role, with a focus on office or corporate catering. The resource will be more towards cost saving with enhance quality and taste. Culinary short course and training is required however, degree or relevant certifications is a plus.
