Job Overview:

For the position of Data Analyst Officer, we are searching for a dedicated resource to support the analysis of operational and financial data within the shipping business. You will be responsible for collecting, processing, and analyzing large volumes of data to help inform decisions across the company, enhance operational efficiency, and drive strategic initiatives.


What will you enjoy doing (duties/tasks)

  • Extract, collect, and integrate structured and unstructured data from multiple sources, including shipping routes, customer databases, fleet telematics, cargo tracking systems, inventory management platforms, and financial records.
  • Design and maintain ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) pipelines to ensure seamless data ingestion and transformation for reporting and analytics.
  • Implement data cleansing, anomaly detection, and validation techniques to ensure data integrity, consistency, and accuracy across all reporting systems.
  • Develop and maintain interactive dashboards, automated reports, and real-time visualizations using BI tools such as Power BI, Excel, or SQL-based reporting platforms to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics.
  • Conduct exploratory data analysis (EDA), trend forecasting, and root cause analysis using statistical modeling, regression analysis, and predictive analytics to support business decision-making.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams, including operations, finance, and logistics, to provide actionable insights and enable data-driven decision-making across departments.
  • Develop and deploy automation scripts Such as (E.g.: Selenium, Beautiful Soap), process optimization techniques to enhance operational efficiency and reduce manual interventions.
  • Ensure adherence to data governance frameworks, security policies, and data compliance regulations to safeguard data confidentiality and accessibility.

Requirements:

What you need to succeed (Qualifications, experience, skills, attributes)!
For the role of Data Analyst Officer, a Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field is required. Candidate should have 1 – 2 years of experience in data analytics, including ETL processes, data warehousing, and data visualization using tools like Power BI, or PostgreSQL. Strong skills in database management, data cleaning, and exploratory data analysis (EDA) are essential.

The role requires problem-solving abilities to work with large datasets, identify trends, and troubleshoot issues. Proficiency in Python for automation and workflow optimization is beneficial. Strong communication skills are needed to present insights clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Knowledge of data governance and compliance regulations is also important.
