Job Overview:

We are looking for a proactive, energetic, and technically adept IT Assistant to join our team and help support the daily operations of our organization's IT infrastructure. This role requires someone who is passionate about technology, has a can-do attitude, and is eager to maintain and optimize the systems that keep the business running smoothly.

You are the one who is here for supporting the ongoing maintenance and troubleshooting of hardware, software, and network systems. This includes diagnosing technical issues, configuring and supporting devices, and providing overall IT support to the team.

A key part of the role is ensuring that all technology systems are performing at their best, minimizing downtime, and contributing to a productive work environment.


What will you enjoy doing (duties/tasks)

  • Ensure all hardware (computers, printers, scanners, etc.) is functioning properly by performing routine checks, upgrades, and repairs.
  • Assist in setting up new devices, such as desktops, laptops, and peripheral equipment.
  • Regularly check the status of hardware systems and report any malfunctions or potential failures. Also, clean computers, peripherals (keyboards, printers, etc.), and other office equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
  • Maintain a tidy workspace and server room by organizing cables, systems, and equipment for safety and accessibility.
  • Assist in the setup, configuration, and troubleshooting of network settings, including IP addressing, DNS settings, and routing protocols.
  • Resolve issues related to internet connectivity, local area networks (LAN), and wide area networks (WAN).Monitor network devices like routers, switches, and modems to ensure continuous connectivity and performance.
  • Assist with applying software updates, patches, and upgrades to keep all systems up-to-date and secure. Also, help resolve software-related issues, such as crashes, bugs, or incompatibility problems, either remotely or in person.
  • Use diagnostic tools to identify problems with computers, networks, or software and recommend solutions. Provide timely resolution for reported IT issues, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
  • Assist staff in solving technical issues related to hardware, software, and network connectivity.
  • Ensure proper installation and maintenance of telecommunication and network cables (e.g., Ethernet, fiber optics).
  • Assist employees with IT-related issues, including setting up user accounts, password resets, and basic troubleshooting.
  • Offer guidance to users on the proper use of hardware and software applications.
  • Manage and prioritize incoming support requests, ensuring that user issues are addressed promptly.
  • Ensure that systems and devices are protected from unauthorized access, malware, and cyber threats. Make sure antivirus and security software are up-to-date and running on all systems.

Requirements:

What you need to succeed (Qualifications, experience, skills, attributes)!
An IT Assistant is expected to be proactive, adaptable, and solution-oriented, ensuring that the organization's technology systems run smoothly and efficiently. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, communication skills, and the ability to troubleshoot various IT challenges.

High Schol Diploma along with the technical certification is a plus. To come up with 1 – 2 years of experience in both Software and Hardware side

Job role require approx. 50% travelling.

Experience with a shipping, logistics or distribution setup would be an edge.
