Job Overview:

The Director of Operations Strategy & Analytics will be responsible for driving operational excellence and continuous improvement across the organization by leveraging data-driven insights to enhance decision-making, optimize supply chain efficiency, and implement effective operational strategies. This role combines operational expertise with advanced analytics to align business processes with the company’s goals, improve cost-effectiveness, and ensure superior customer satisfaction.

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to define long-term operational goals and ensure alignment with the company’s overall business strategy.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the organization to enhance operational processes, service quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Design and implement a robust operational strategy to scale operations as the company expands and enters new markets.
  • Leverage advanced analytics to identify trends, operational bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for cost optimization across the shipping, logistics, and freight forwarding operations.
  • Utilize data to drive decision-making, including identifying opportunities for process improvements, enhancing resource allocation, and optimizing capacity utilization.
  • Develop operational dashboards, reports, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor performance across all functions and provide insights to senior management.
  • Perform in-depth analysis of operational performance data (e.g., transit times, cost per shipment, customer complaints) to identify key opportunities for improvement.
  • Identify and implement strategies to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of logistics, transportation, warehousing, and inventory management.
  • Collaborate with the supply chain and procurement teams to optimize inventory levels, streamline sourcing strategies, and reduce operational costs.
  • Lead efforts to improve shipping schedules, transportation routes, and load optimization to reduce delivery times and minimize costs.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of technology and automation in the supply chain and operations, recommending improvements to enhance productivity.
  • Spearhead initiatives to implement Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies to eliminate waste, reduce inefficiencies, and streamline operations.
  • Conduct regular reviews of operational workflows to identify opportunities to standardize processes, improve quality, and increase throughput.
  • Lead change management initiatives to ensure smooth implementation of process improvements and new technologies across the organization.
  • Monitor and report on the impact of process improvements, ensuring that improvements lead to tangible cost savings and performance enhancements.
  • Work closely with other departments (e.g., Sales, Marketing, IT, Customer Service) to align operational strategies with the company’s commercial and customer service objectives.
  • Coordinate with the IT department to leverage technology tools (e.g., TMS, WMS, ERP) and systems to enhance operational visibility, reporting, and decision-making.
  • Collaborate with the Finance team to develop financial models and cost analysis for new operational initiatives, ensuring that cost-saving measures are sustainable and align with the company’s budgetary goals.
  • Oversee the development of operational budgets and forecasts, ensuring that costs are managed effectively and that resources are allocated efficiently.
  • Identify and recommend cost-cutting strategies across the logistics and supply chain operations without compromising service quality.
  • Track and report on cost-saving initiatives and their impact on profitability, ensuring alignment with overall financial objectives.
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools that can optimize operational performance, such as transportation management systems (TMS), warehouse management systems (WMS), and automation solutions.
  • Lead the implementation of new technologies that improve operational efficiency, reduce manual intervention, and enhance data accuracy.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and technological advancements that can drive operational efficiency and competitive advantage.
  • Prepare and present operational performance reports to senior leadership, highlighting key insights, performance against KPIs, and recommendations for improvements.
  • Communicate operational results, challenges, and opportunities to stakeholders across the organization.
  • Develop detailed reports on operational efficiency, supply chain performance, and cost optimization efforts for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Lead and mentor a high-performing team of operations analysts, data scientists, and strategy professionals, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the team.
  • Promote the development of talent within the team, ensuring team members are equipped with the skills and tools necessary to succeed.

Requirements:

What you need to succeed (Qualifications, experience, skills, attributes)!
With refer to the senior position Director of Operations Strategy & Analytics, we are looking for Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Operations Management, Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. 10+ years of experience in operations management, strategy, or analytics within the logistics, shipping, or freight forwarding industry. Proven track record of developing and implementing successful operational strategies and initiatives that enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and drive business growth. Experience with data analysis, performance metrics, and reporting in an operations context. Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.

Experience in managing cross-functional projects and influencing decision-making at the executive level.

Strong understanding of logistics and supply chain operations, including transportation, warehousing, inventory management, and freight forwarding.
