Job Overview:

The Customer Support Officer is a critical role within the shipping and logistics industry, focusing on delivering exceptional customer service to clients and ensuring that all customer queries, complaints, and requests are handled efficiently. The primary responsibility of this role is to provide support related to shipping, delivery status, billing, and any logistics-related issues, all while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.

The Customer Support Officer will serve as the main point of contact for customers, helping them resolve issues quickly and ensuring smooth communication throughout the shipping process. This includes providing information on delivery schedules, tracking shipments, managing returns, and supporting customers with any logistics challenges they face. The role requires an individual who is solution-oriented, communicative, and able to navigate complex customer service situations.


What will you enjoy doing (duties/tasks)

  • Respond promptly to customer inquiries regarding shipments, orders, delivery status, and any logistics-related questions via phone, email, or online platforms.
  • Provide accurate and timely information to customers about the status of their orders and shipments, including tracking and expected delivery times.
  • Manage and resolve customer complaints or issues related to damaged goods, delayed shipments, billing discrepancies, or service quality.
  • Collaborate with warehouse, operations, logistics, and sales teams to ensure seamless handling of customer orders and issues.
  • Maintain clear and concise records of customer interactions, complaints, and resolutions to improve the service quality and operational efficiency.
  • Assist customers with understanding billing details, charges, or payment issues, ensuring clarity and resolving any disputes related to costs.
  • Support customers in managing returns, exchanges, or delivery adjustments as necessary, ensuring a smooth and customer-friendly process.
  • Gather and report customer feedback to management for continuous improvement of services and customer satisfaction.

Requirements:

What you need to succeed (Qualifications, experience, skills, attributes)!
The critical elements of the Customer Support Officer role within a shipping and logistics company. It combines Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to resolve customer issues efficiently and provide appropriate solutions. Knowledge of customer service platforms, CRM software, and tracking systems used in the shipping and logistics industry. Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant tools. Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact clearly and effectively with customers and internal teams. Ability to handle multiple customer inquiries or tasks simultaneously, with strong time management skills. Anticipates potential issues and addresses them before they become problems, contributing to a smooth customer experience.

To come up with a Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, or a related field is a plus. 1-3 years of experience in customer service, preferably in the logistics, shipping, or transportation industry. Any certifications related to customer service, logistics, or shipping are a plus.

Job role require approx. 50% travelling.

Experience with a shipping, logistics or distribution setup would be an edge.
