Job Overview:

A Media Production Officer is responsible for the creation, development, and production of various media materials, including videos, graphics, advertisements, and other digital content. This role ensures that all media produced aligns with the organization’s objectives and brand identity. The Media Production Officer works closely with marketing, PR, and creative teams to produce high-quality content across different platforms.

  • Collaborate with marketing, branding, and communications teams to understand content requirements and develop media strategies.
  • Develop and maintain a content calendar to organize production timelines and ensure the timely delivery of media materials.
  • Research industry trends, best practices, and audience preferences to inform content creation.
  • Plan and organize all stages of media production, from conceptualization to final execution.
  • Develop storyboards, scripts, and shot lists for video and multimedia content.
  • Secure the necessary resources (props, locations, talent, etc.) for production.
  • Coordinate with relevant departments (marketing, creative teams, etc.) to align production goals with overall campaign objectives.
  • Oversee the recording or filming of videos, audio, and photography, ensuring high-quality content.
  • Direct on-camera talent and manage production teams during shoots.
  • Operate and maintain media equipment, including cameras, lighting, audio equipment, and editing software.
  • Ensure all aspects of production are in line with the creative vision and organizational standards.
  • Edit raw footage and audio to produce final content, including cutting, trimming, adding effects, and sound mixing.
  • Work with graphic designers and animation teams to add visual effects, motion graphics, and animations to video projects.
  • Ensure all content is polished and edited according to company branding and technical requirements.
  • Review final output and ensure consistency across all media formats.
  • Optimize and format content for different platforms (social media, websites, email campaigns, TV, etc.).
  • Coordinate with distribution channels to ensure the timely release of media materials.
  • Ensure content is properly tagged, archived, and stored for future use.
  • Work closely with various internal departments, such as marketing, communications, and design, to ensure that all content aligns with the brand's voice and goals.
  • Coordinate with external vendors or agencies when necessary for specialized production needs.
  • Manage relationships with freelance talent, production teams, and external partners.
  • Assist in managing budgets for media production projects, ensuring cost-efficiency while maintaining quality.
  • Source and procure equipment, software, and materials required for production.
  • Maintain detailed production schedules and ensure deadlines are met within the given budget.
  • Review all media content before distribution, ensuring it meets the company’s quality standards.
  • Conduct final checks for accuracy, proper formatting, and branding consistency.
  • Solicit and integrate feedback from stakeholders to improve the final product.
  • Track the performance of media content (viewership, engagement, etc.) and generate reports on key metrics.
  • Analyze the effectiveness of various media formats and suggest improvements based on analytics.
  • Provide insights on how content can be optimized for better reach and engagement.
  • Keep up with the latest trends in media production technology, editing tools, and industry standards.
  • Experiment with new production techniques, tools, and creative ideas to continuously improve content quality.

Requirements:

What you need to succeed (Qualifications, experience, skills, attributes)!
In the role of Media Production Officer we are looking for a Bachelor’s degree in Media Production, Film Studies, Communications, or a related field. Relevant certifications in media production software or techniques are a plus. At least 2 years of experience in media production, including video, audio, and graphic content creation. Strong portfolio of completed projects showcasing versatility across different media formats (videos, advertisements, documentaries, etc.).

Familiarity with production workflows, from pre-production through to post-production.

Proficiency in media production software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, etc.), Final Cut Pro, and other editing platforms.

Experience with camera operation, lighting, and sound equipment.
Familiarity with video and audio editing, colour grading, and sound mixing.
