Job Overview:
The job of Data Analyst Trainee will work closely with our data science team to support the collection, analysis, and reporting of key operational data across the shipping and logistics business. You will receive hands-on training, mentorship, and exposure to a variety of data analysis tasks while contributing to real-time projects and gaining practical experience in the industry.
This role is ideal for someone early in their career to gain valuable skills and experience in data analysis
What will you enjoy doing (duties/tasks)
- Assist Senior in gathering, cleaning, and organizing data from various sources, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
- Help in creating basic reports, dashboards, and visualizations using tools like Excel, Power BI to support business analysis.
- Perform data validation, anomaly detection, and basic quality control to ensure data reliability.
- Conduct exploratory data analysis (EDA) to identify trends and patterns under supervision.
- Work closely with senior analysts and cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and support decision-making.
- Gain hands-on experience in PostgreSQL, Python and business intelligence tools through on-the-job training.
- Assist in documenting data processes, workflows, and best practices to improve efficiency.

In the role of Data Analyst Trainee, a Bachelor’s degree (or currently pursuing) in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics or a related field. Strong analytical skills with the ability to work with large datasets and extract meaningful insights. Basic knowledge of data analysis tools such as Microsoft Excel, PostgreSQL, and data visualization platforms like Power BI. A keen interest in the shipping and logistics industry with a proactive approach to learning and problem-solving.
