Job Overview:

The HRIS (Human Resource Information System) Specialist is responsible for managing and maintaining the organization's HR technology systems. This includes overseeing HR software platforms, ensuring data accuracy, supporting HR processes, and assisting with system upgrades or implementation of new technologies.

The HRIS Specialist serves as the technical point of contact for HRIS-related issues and provides expert guidance on data management, reporting, and system functionality.


What will you enjoy doing (duties/tasks)

  • Manage, update, and maintain the HRIS platform (e.g., Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, ADP, Oracle, etc.), ensuring data accuracy, security, and integrity.
  • Collaborate with IT and HR teams to ensure system functionality meets the organization’s needs.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system issues, working with HR and IT departments to implement solutions.
  • Ensure all HR-related data is entered and updated accurately in the HRIS, including employee records, compensation, benefits, and other HR-related information.
  • Conduct regular audits of HR data and report discrepancies to the HR department for resolution.
  • Generate and analyze HR reports from the HRIS, providing insights on employee metrics such as turnover, headcount, demographics, and performance data.
  • Customize reports and dashboards to meet the needs of various HR functions, including recruitment, compensation, and talent management.
  • Support the implementation of new HRIS features or upgrades, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal disruption to HR operations.
  • Collaborate with external vendors or internal teams to evaluate, test, and deploy system enhancements or new tools.
  • Provide training to HR team members and other system users on HRIS functionality, data entry, and reporting.
  • Offer ongoing support for HRIS-related issues, ensuring staff have the resources and guidance needed to use the system effectively.
  • Ensure HRIS systems and data management practices comply with legal and regulatory requirements, including data privacy laws and labour regulations.
  • Monitor system security and implement necessary measures to protect sensitive employee information.
  • Identify areas for process improvement within HRIS workflows, recommending solutions to streamline HR operations.
  • Collaborate with HR leaders to align the HRIS with business objectives and improve operational efficiency.

Requirements:

What you need to succeed (Qualifications, experience, skills, attributes)!
In the position of HRIS (Human Resource Information System) Specialist Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. Minimum of 2-3 years of experience working with HRIS platforms. Experience with HR Functions, HR reporting, and process improvement is highly preferred. Strong understanding of HR processes (e.g., payroll, recruitment, performance management).

Proficient in data management, including data entry, validation, and analysis. Advanced knowledge of Excel or similar data analysis tools. Knowledge of HRIS systems architecture, integrations, and automation. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot system issues. Excellent communication and training skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
