Job Overview:

In the job role of Director of Pricing Strategy & Analytics, you will lead the development, implementation, and optimization of pricing strategies of services that maximize the profitability and market competitiveness for our business.

You will leverage data analytics to provide actionable insights, drive pricing decisions, and ensure that pricing models are aligned with corporate objectives, market trends, and customer needs. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Marketing, Operations, Finance, and IT, to optimize pricing across various services.

  • Lead the development and execution of the company’s pricing strategy for both new and existing products and services.
  • Align pricing strategy with overall business objectives to ensure competitive positioning in the market.
  • Conduct regular pricing reviews and identify new opportunities for dynamic pricing adjustments.
  • Develop pricing policies and guidelines in collaboration with Sales and Finance to ensure compliance and consistency.
  • Utilize advanced analytics to provide data-driven insights for pricing decisions, including market trends, competitor analysis, cost structures, and customer Behavior.
  • Oversee the collection, analysis, and interpretation of key pricing and performance metrics (e.g., gross margin, pricing elasticity, revenue growth).
  • Identify and quantify the impact of price changes on demand, revenue, and profitability, and recommend strategies for improvement.
  • Collaborate with Commercial, Sales, and Operations teams to ensure pricing decisions are aligned with customer needs, operational capabilities, and market conditions.
  • Partner with IT and Data Science teams to enhance pricing systems and tools, ensuring pricing decisions are integrated with sales and operational processes.
  • Support the Sales team by providing market insights and recommendations to help them negotiate pricing and manage customer expectations.
  • Continuously monitor competitive pricing activity and market dynamics to ensure the company’s pricing remains competitive and meets market demands.
  • Conduct benchmarking studies and competitive analysis to understand pricing trends within the logistics and freight forwarding industry.
  • Adapt pricing strategy based on external factors such as fuel costs, shipping regulations, tariffs, and global supply chain disruptions.
  • Develop and implement pricing models that maximize profitability while balancing customer retention and growth.
  • Utilize pricing optimization tools and techniques (e.g., price elasticity, demand forecasting, segmentation) to improve margins.
  • Identify opportunities for cost optimization, ensuring that pricing strategies consider both internal cost structures and external market conditions.
  • Develop dashboards and reporting tools to track pricing performance, profitability, and other key metrics.
  • Prepare and present detailed reports for senior management on pricing performance, trends, and opportunities for growth.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting of pricing-related performance metrics for all key stakeholders.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of pricing analysts and specialists.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation within the Pricing & Analytics team.
  • Provide regular coaching, feedback, and professional development opportunities for team members.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging pricing strategies, and innovations in technology to enhance the company’s pricing capabilities.
  • Identify process inefficiencies and recommend improvements to streamline pricing operations and increase speed to market.

Requirements:

What you need to succeed (Qualifications, experience, skills, attributes)!
In the requirement of Director of Pricing Strategy & Analytics, A Bachelor’s/ Master’s degree in Business, or a related field.  The experience of 10+ years in pricing, pricing strategy, or analytics, preferably in shipping, logistics, or freight forwarding. Proven experience in developing and implementing pricing strategies that drive revenue and profitability. Strong background in data analytics, financial modelling, and market research, with advanced proficiency in analytical tools (Excel, SQL, Python, etc.). Experience leading and managing cross-functional teams and influencing decision-making at senior leadership levels. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights. Excellent leadership and team management abilities, with a focus on collaboration and development.
